jane /jān/ n. a woman
Jane is woman. Jane is me and if you are a woman, Jane is you. Floured Jane is a reminder to me. A reminder that I am a woman who may be covered in flour due to unexpected kitchen messes, but such is life. My kitchen and process isn’t picturesque and neither are our lives. Yet, each day, as it is called today, we have an opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in passions, people, and life–at the risk of disarray and for the hope of beauty.
My desire is to choose to take part in the beautiful. What an honor it is to take part in creating beauty. My heart is stirred by remembering that through my creation, I have the chance to reflect a majestic Creator.
So, here we are. Floured Jane. A place to remember together that we are messy, imperfect woman with the opportunity to work and fight for beauty. I know that I need that reminder, because it is so much easier to be a consumer of beauty than it is to be a bearer of beauty.
With that, I am so glad you’re here! I would love to continue to navigate this journey together. My name is Danielle. I am Chicago-raised and Austin-living. My husband, Dan, (yes, we have the same name–I know, it’s weird) and I met in Austin, married in Austin, and simply love doing life in Austin. Dan is a youth pastor at our church and I get to do creative work at a company downtown. We love our community, two-stepping (just to clarify, it is not line dancing), listening to sports-talk radio, and food, we love food.
In addition to the aforementioned, it is always my hope to share the bits of wisdom and knowledge I have in order that they may be a help to another. As I said, we are passionate about food and I’ve picked up a bit of knowledge as a result of that passion.
Thank you for allowing me to share. It truly is an honor.
